The event saw families participate in the two-kilometre run across Penistone, as part of Penistone Gala. This year, the money raised will go to getting a support dog for Springvale Primary School, the school that Jack and Paul went to.
Claire Throssell MBE, Jack and Paul's mum, set up the Fun Run in Jack and Paul's legacy, to support local families suffering from serious loss or trauma. Jack and Paul Sykes were killed when their known domestically abusive father set their house alight, during court-permitted unsupervised contact with the two boys.
Marie has worked tirelessly with Claire to bring legislation to repeal the presumption of contact, to prevent known domestic abusers from having unsupervised contact with their children. Marie recently voted for ‘Jack and Paul’s Law’, which is currently passing through Parliament.

"Jack and Paul’s story is woven into the fabric of Penistone as our town. The Fun Run is a beautiful way to remember Jack and Paul's lives each year, and it was a privilege to be a part of the day.
"One of the proudest moments since becoming your MP has been voting for Jack and Paul's Law, to repeal the presumption of contact, following years of relentless campaigning by Claire. We must ensure that no more children die at the hands of a known domestically abusive parent, during a court-ordered, unsupervised contact visit ever again.
"Thank you so much to all those who took part in the run, to Claire, and to all the volunteers."

"This is the one day of the year that we talk of Jack and Paul as they lived, not as they died and what happened to them.
"To see so many people that knew them, that still remember them and come and run every year is just incredible."
